I think that you should be able to use phones but wait until you are done with all your work and if it is ok with the teacher.

I think that students should be able to use cell phones in class as long as they don't get on them until they are done with they're work/or the teacher is done teaching.

I, as a teacher, don't have a problem with students using their cell phones after instruction time is over. they shoulc keep it on silent as not to bother anyone. Teachers are adults. Adults are suppose to have a different set of rules than kids. Teachers shouldn't use them during instruction time, but afterwards should be fine. My mom gets sick sometimes and has to go to the hospital. I need to know that, quickly. I have a son and daughter-in-law that I need to be able to get messages (text) from in case something happens. For example: last year my sister was in a wreck. My mom had to call the school, instead of my cell phone, to let me know. When the message got to me, no one told me it was an emergancy to call her back. I waited til the end of class to go to the office to call her back. She then told me about my sister. Luckily she was ok, but that 45 minutes could have been the difference in seeing her alive or dead.

From Mrs. Brents:

What if I told you that today we were going to review for a test and everyone was going to use their cell phone? Would you enjoy creating test questions and texting them to each other and then answering them back?

I believe that students should be able to use cell phones, but only if it is important. For instance, my dad told me to ask a certain teacher a question, and I could have called him to ask him, if I could have only used a cell phone. I also think that teachers should be able to use cell phones. I just think that use of them should be limited based on the importance of the instance.

i think everyone should use cell phones in class, but the only reason teachers should take the phone if it goes off in class. if anyone is found cheating in class with the phone then you should be in alot of trouble. teachers should use them if it is important thing to answer it.

I believe that students and teachers should be able to carry cell phones in case of an extreme emergancies or to be able to hear from parents in case something goes wrong with a family member. I don't think its fair that were are not able to have them for the simple fact that some students choose to make bad decisions with their phone. If we were able to have them, rules need to be explained very clearly and the ones that can't follow the rules should have their prevliges taken away. . Also, the future is upon us and technology is the futrue. schools should be using labtops and computers intead of paper and books. Older people just do not understand because they grew up in a diffrent generation.
