Jesse Burgener

Some factors that led to civil war were religious conflicts and political divisions. These problems passed across the rulers, but war was finally estavlished when Charles I was the ruler. Charles tried to impose new policies and taxes to keep the government aliv, and enraged parliament, who wanted to take full control. The tension finally snapped and Charles's religious policies caused conflict with Ireland, and Charles's attempted use of force caused war with parliament.

Briana Berry...

king Charles and parliament had a lot to do with the civil war. King Charles was in dire need of money so he forced to recall a parliament. Parliament refused to discuss anythhing because they didnt like the way Charles handled political and religious views. While Parliament convened, trouble erupted in Ireland. Irish were angered because English were seizing land from ireland. In 1641 tha Irish rebelled.

Hollie Arlene*

Charles was a big part of the civil war, but he was also I believe, not the whole cause. When parliment was meeting, Ireland had started some problems...Because they had no control over england taking thier land and never begin able to do anything about it.Ireland was beginning to get really tired of what the english were doing so they called for war.

From AJ Finley

What led up to the civil war was Charles being so desperate for money and his pushing of the Church of England's beliefs on the Irish people who remained Roman Catholic. But also Charles refusal of Parliament for 11 years really helped in the fueling of the civil war. England was extremly being hurt under his rule. With all of the religious and political issues being thrown into the air, England had no chance in stopping this civil war from coming.

Josh Sensabaugh-

Factors leading to civil war in England were the divine right, professed by James 1- Monarchs derive their power directly from God and that such power is absolute. Such statements aroused the resentment among the members of Parliament. Martial law was also a factor that led to civil war in England. It is a temporary military rule with limitations on Individual rights. Thus, discontent ran high when Charles 1 again called Parliament into session in 1628.

Money was one of the factors that led to a civil war in England. James I was constantly asking for money from parliament. His beleif in divine right and religious issues also caused problems. Charles I also asked parliament for alot of money. He angered many people when he placed some areas under martial law and he dissolved parliament for 11 years.

i believe Religious controversy was a major factor that led to the outbreak of war in england. James the first persicuted puritans, which was the majority of parlaments religion. When the king was in need of help, their arguments over religion prevented them from creating a resolution. There are several more religion controversys that also led to the outbreak of war.

Mitch Brents

The main factor that led to civil war in england were conflicts with King charles. Charles became king in 1625. Just like his father, he believed in divine right and had different opinions than parliament. Which angered them and they forced him to sign the Petition of Rights after he had England go to war with Spain and France. Then the Scots invaded England and that forced charles to ask parliament for money. When they refused, that spaked the beginning of the civil war in england.

Tracie Bolinger

I beleive that the main factors that contributed to the Civil War in England, were religion and debt. Problems first arose when James 1 took over! He beleived in Divine Right, which made the parliament angry. He constantly asked Parliament for money, which added to the parliaments anger. After his death, His son, Charles 1 took over. He also was believed in Divine Right and he led England into debt. I believe this were very important factors that contributed to the Civil War in England.

Charles tried to force different religious groups to conform to his ways. He made laws and forced people to give up their own beliefs. People got really angry about this and revolted.

Some factors that contributed to the outbreak of civil war in england included the conflict between charles and the parliament. This conflict caused further problems in that the parliament was slow to help charles when problems arose. These problems were due to religious tension between england and ireland because of the the irish refusal to accept the church of england. They remained faithful to the Roman Catholic religion. These factors continued to worsen and eventually led to the outbreak of civil war in england.

Some factors that contributed to the civil war of England are the diversity of the rulers. Queen Elizabeth was the best because she was friends with the parliament and good with all the people. James the 1st and Charles the 1st were not good with parliament because of their attitudes to come in and think that they could just rule the place however they wanted. So pretty much things didn't go well with them.

the war's human toll; the United States paid a heavy price for its involvement in Vietnam. Billions of dollars were spent. Over 300,000 people were wounded or killed. In Vietnam around one million North and South Vietnamese soldiers died in the conflict as did countless civilians. the war also left its mark on the nation as a whole.

KELLEY BARBER!!!

The Vietnam War increased Americans' cynicism about their government. Vietnam made Americans more wary of their leaders. Many Americans became more reluctant to intervene in the affairs of other nations. Americans learned many lessons from the Vietnam War.

Lyndsey Mears

I, as a teacher, don't have a problem with students using their cell phones after instruction time is over. they shoulc keep it on silent as not to bother anyone. Teachers are adults. Adults are suppose to have a different set of rules than kids. Teachers shouldn't use them during instruction time, but afterwards should be fine. My mom gets sick sometimes and has to go to the hospital. I need to know that, quickly. I have a son and daughter-in-law that I need to be able to get messages (text) from in case something happens. For example: last year my sister was in a wreck. My mom had to call the school, instead of my cell phone, to let me know. When the message got to me, no one told me it was an emergancy to call her back. I waited til the end of class to go to the office to call her back. She then told me about my sister. Luckily she was ok, but that 45 minutes could have been the difference in seeing her alive or dead.

I believe that students should be able to use cell phones, but only if it is important. For instance, my dad told me to ask a certain teacher a question, and I could have called him to ask him, if I could have only used a cell phone. I also think that teachers should be able to use cell phones. I just think that use of them should be limited based on the importance of the instance.

Chris Hogue

I believe that students and teachers should be able to carry cell phones in case of an extreme emergancies or to be able to hear from parents in case something goes wrong with a family member. I don't think its fair that were are not able to have them for the simple fact that some students choose to make bad decisions with their phone. If we were able to have them, rules need to be explained very clearly and the ones that can't follow the rules should have their prevliges taken away. . Also, the future is upon us and technology is the futrue. schools should be using labtops and computers intead of paper and books. Older people just do not understand because they grew up in a diffrent generation.

JENNIFER MEYER

Aj Finley:

cell phones have always been a quick and easy way to communicate with others. So why not use them in schools for education purposes? You might think wait kind of education purposes can a cell phone have. Cell Phones can be used for different reasons such as test reminders and/or getting missed homework assignments when absent. Present technology is becoming more and more need in todays schools. Our school first started with Multimedia and Desktop classes. Now we are using ways of new teaching like the DSL Lab and the Smartboards. No one can deny that we are becoming more dependent on todays technology then ever before.

Cell phones should definitely be allowed in school. Sometimes they are needed. for instance, last year my mom was goin through cancer. i missed as many days as i could to be with her at all of her surgerys but i ran out of days and had to come to school. I would spend the whole day at school wondering if my momma was ok. thats torture. If would have been allowed to have my phone with me i could've called my dad and just asked. he could've kept me informed on how she was doing more than just the few messages that were left for me in the office. Cell phones could be alot of help if they were allowed in school.

Josh S.

I think cell phones should be used in school. We could used the phones for learning. Kids love to text right? Well the teacher could make up a question and text it to all the students, the students could text back the answer and not have to waste paper and then students could'nt cheat. During the class if you want to know your grade you could text the teacher and ask him/her and instead of getting up out of your chair or the teacher saying out loud he/she could text it to you.

i think that cell phones should be allowed at school. i think that as long as your phone is on vibrate or silent, it should be allowed in class. sometimes things come up when you need to talk to somkeone that is somewhere else at the time...such as a parent. so as long as your phone is set on somethin that won't disrupt others, there should be no reason to ban cell phones. they can be used for so much good but authorities at school always only look at the bad. they need to just let us have our phone and not get so upset about it. we have our reasons to use phones.

I believe that cell phones should be allowed in school. Only if they are not disruppting class, like going off during class. And if they are used for a good reason.

Brandi Brown

this is nikki hampton, a junior.

i believe that cell phones should be allowed at school. Im not quite sure what the administration thinks we are doing with our celluar devices, but i can tell you that we are old and mature enough to be responcible and respectable to have them at school.

Emergencies happen. Yes parents CAN call the school, but not alot of parents know the number and in an emergency im sure they would for get.

INstead of focusing our attension on who has their personal phone not being used in thier pocket, or who has a hat, we should be focusing on more important issues. Focus on things that reflect the school, such as test scores and taking care of the campus.

Im worried that Wonderview School District is putting so much time on enforsing a rule of such unimportance. Instead of real issues.

I Believe that cell phones should be allowed at school. student should be allowed to use there cell phones when not being instructed. Everyone knows that teaching does not take up the whole class period. we should be allowed to use them when we have free time after teaching is over.We use our cell phones all the time anyways. Why not allow us to use them so we arent breaking the rules, and yes restrictions should be put in place.

By: Brian Roath

i think cell phones are a good thing. We should be able to possess our cell phones because they are our gateway to the outside world. Restrictions should most definatly put in place to prevent distractions in class but we should be able to have them.the same goes for the teachers, they should be able to use theirs also. This is what I think. Josh Eastridge

I believe that cell phones should certainly be allowed in school for both students and teachers. In the world we live in today, cell phones are just part of it. They dont distract us. we are used to multi-tasking because we text while we do everything. Some restrictions should be enforced however, as with anything. Of course students shouldnt be using phones while direct instruction is going on. they should not complain of not understanding if they arent paying attention. Cell phones shouldnt be loud or disruptive to others as well. but i dont understand while there should be any problems with students texting when thay arent busy.

I think that cell phones should be at school because emergencies can happen often or just out of no where they could happenjust like that. If my mom was dying then i would like to see her before she dies and if the office had to contact me then that is 5 minutes that I could be with her before she dies and that 5 miutes could mean something to me and I would never forgive the school for that, all that my dad would have to do is just send me a text or call my cell phone and I would be there in a bit and this is why i think that cell phones should be used by kids

In my opinion, cell phones should be allowed in school. Although some people would argue that they are an interuption in the classroom, that they take away from learning time, and students use their cell phones to cheat. Most kids today just love to text, or that is also a way for students to get in touch with their parents, they are not cheating. I also feel that cell phone usage should be up to the teacher, because the teacher can tell the kids when they are allowed to use their phones, without interupting the class. The school adminitration is becoming way to strict on cell phones, when little restrictions should be applied.

Tracie Bolinger

I think that cell phone usage rules should be revised. Students of today are not using cell phones for sharing answers as most people think. Students and teachers should both be allowed more freedom when it comes to cell phones. They should be allowed if they are not disrupting class when the teacher is talking and while others are trying to work. Some kids need to be reached at school by their parents in emergency situations and calling the school and waiting for them to leave class can take valuable time. Teachers might need to use their phones for school business like ordering things for prom and since they can't leave the classroom they should be able to use their phones.
